Inpatient medical claims on travel insurance
- Please make sure that you contact the Inter Group Assistance Services before visiting any clinic or hospital as they will be able to tell you which is the most appropriate medical facility to treat you.
- Send us your original booking invoices and travel documents showing the dates and times of travel.
- Send us medical evidence from the doctor treating you to confirm the illness or injury and treatment you were given, including your hospital admission and discharge records if this applies.
- Send us all the original receipts and account for all your expenses.
- Pay the hospital, clinic or doctor treating you for any routine or simple outpatient treatment (provided it's less than £500 and claim back relevant expenses when you return to the UK.)
All other travel insurance claims
- You will need to call us within 31 days of the incident on 0870 739 3930 (if you are calling from outside the UK, dial +44 (0) 1252 745 605 and quote reference IGCS 1482) for a claim form.
- Check your policy and policy schedule carefully to make sure that the loss, damage or medical expense is covered under the insurance.
- We will send you a claim form and you will need to check it and change any of the details if they are not correct or complete. You should then sign the claim form and return it with any other information that we ask for as soon as possible.
- As a general guideline, however, you should:
- report all thefts or losses to the nearest police authority within 24 hours of discovering them and ask for a police report in writing;
- report any thefts or losses to your courier or hotel or apartment manager, if appropriate and get a report in writing; and
- keep all your receipts and account for all your expenses.
If you do not contact us, we may not be able to pay your medical costs.
